Hawaii rarely sees hurricanes make landfall but that may be set to change later this week, as a Category 5 hurricane barrels towards the most far-flung U.S. state. Hurricane Lane was 480 miles southeast of Honolulu as of Wednesday morning, according to CNN, and is projected to make landfall around Thursday. Experts say the storm will likely weaken by the time it hits Hawaii, but the event will still mark an incredibly rare occurrence. Lane will only be the second Category 5 hurricane to come within 350 miles of Hawaii throughout the course of recorded history. The National Weather Service […]

The Rainbow Warriors did that far from home, in Fort Collins, Colo., against the Colorado State rams. And UH brought special helmets as a tribute to the islands, which have been dealing with heavy rain and winds associated with Hurricane Lane: Someone please show me a better looking helmet than this.#NoCan pic.twitter.com/Rok51i5U1K — Robert Kekaula (@RKekaula) August 25, 2018 A map cutout of a state is a tremendous idea for a helmet […]

Hawaii kept gashing CSU with this nifty shovel pass

The Rainbow Warriors pulled off the big road upset in style. Hawaii entered its Week 0 game against Colorado State as a 17.5-point underdog, but the Rainbow Warriors leave Fort Collins looking anything but after a 43-34 win over the Rams. It was a wild game in which CSU almost erased a 30-point deficit. Much was made of the Warriors going back to the run-and-shoot offense this past offseason. It’s the same system that powered Hawaii to the Sugar Bowl in 2007 under former head coach June Jones. The offensive philosophy is known for getting receivers open by allowing them […]
