How the people behind ‘The Waterboy’ created a cult classic

On the 20-year anniversary of the movie hitting theaters, let’s talk with writers, directors, and actors who worked on it. The Waterboy has never gone away. But it’s enjoying a moment now, around the 20th anniversary of its release in theaters on Nov. 6, 1998. Tributes have taken a few viral forms, including a Louisiana high school team dressing up in the uniforms of the movie’s South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs: [email protected] blanks #Mentorship 70-0 after Bobby Boucher sneaks away and doesn’t tell Momma about how great foos-ball is in alternate jerseys celebrating the 20th anniversary of @AdamSandler‘s […]

by I'm Struggling
Snap Snap launched Snap Camera, its first-ever desktop app for consumers on Friday. Snap Camera allows users to “wear” Lenses while on their computers, like while recording a YouTube video or on a Google Hangout. Snap also announced a partnership with Twitch, where streamers and their fans can wear Lenses while on the gaming platform. The addition of desktop and a partnership with Twitch comes one day after a tough Q3 earnings call for Snap where the company announced it had lost two million daily active users since last quarter.  A new app from Snap is coming to the desktop.  […]

Why This New Chatbot Is More Likely To Get You Promoted Than Fired

by I'm Struggling
Confession: For the past several months I’ve been furiously coding away on a new project as part of HubSpot Labs. It’s called GrowthBot. It’s a chatbot for marketing and sales people — and anyone looking to grow a company (like startup folks). The launch has gone well, and my bot is currently happily handling thousands of messages. Things like “show me companies in california that use HubSpot” and “who are the top influencers about landing pages”. GrowthBot can answer most of these, and thousands of others. So, overall, it’s been a good day. But, anytime bots come up in conversation […]

Move Over SEO: How Developers Can Generate You More Traffic

by I'm Struggling
I’m a marketer. I know more about traffic generation than most others, and I surely know more about marketing than developers. But what if I told you that developers can generate you more traffic than an SEO or any other type of marketer? And no, it’s not because the developer implements changes to your site… they are just able to produce more traffic. What’s crazy about this is that it’s cheaper in the long run than paying marketers. Most of you know that I have an ad agency, Neil Patel Digital. And although I always want more big companies to […]

This Brooklyn-based audio company’s new Bluetooth headphones are easily the best way to spend $250

The Insider Picks team writes about stuff we think you’ll like. Business Insider has affiliate partnerships, so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase. Grado Grado just released its first Bluetooth headphones in its 65 year career. They’re called the GW100s, and they cost $250.  They retain the company’s trademark open-back design, which makes music sound incredibly clear and natural, like you’re listening to music through speakers. The downside is that sound leaks in and out, but not too much.  I was extremely impressed at how great the GW100s sounded given their price. Music was clear and detailed, although […]

Invisible Illnesses….What Are They!?

by I'm Struggling
What is an invisible illness? * An invisible illness, or sometimes known as an invisible disability, is simply a medical condition that is not easily visible to others. * This includes not just mental illnesses, but also chronic physical conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, fibromyalgia and others. * When you have an invisible illness, it is common to encounter judgement and criticism from others. Because they can not see your symptoms, people will sometimes conclude that you must be ‘making up’ you illness or symptoms, which is obviously not the case. * People who suffer with an invisible illness are […]

Photo by Alex Caparros/Getty Images Lionel Messi has fractured his arm one week before the biggest match of FC Barcelona’s season so far. Messi had already provided one assist and scored one goal before he suffered a horrific fall while challenging for the ball alongside Sevilla midfielder Franco Vazquez. Messi was treated by the sidelines, had his arm wrapped with a bandage, and used his shirt as a sling before he was ultimately replaced by Ousmane Dembele. It has been confirmed Messi will be out of […]

The Stories Slide Deck: How Stories stack up across social platforms (FB, SNAP)

by I'm Struggling
In the last few years, there’s been a major shift as to how consumers interact with social media. Rather than posting content that lives on the platform in perpetuity, users are now posting and viewing more “Stories,” video or images that live for only 24 hours.Business Insider Intelligence Many platforms have introduced some form of Stories format — whether it be Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or WhatsApp. Snapchat was the company to introduce it to the world, but Instagram has surpassed it in terms of volume and perhaps usability.See the rest of the story at Business Insider See Also: Apple just […]

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers score 10 points in final 2 minutes for miraculous Monday night comeback

by I'm Struggling
Dylan Buell/Getty Images Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers pulled off yet another two-minute comeback on Monday night to beat the San Francisco 49ers. Rodgers and company would put up 10 points in the final two minutes of the game to take a 33-30 win into the bye week. Kicker Mason Crosby shook off a brutal outing last Sunday to send the game-winning kick through the uprights as time expired. Aaron Rodgers did it again. Down a touchdown with just two minutes remaining against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, Rodgers and the Packers put together two scoring […]
